Aiivon Innovation Hub has hosted network members and other stakeholders in the Abuja innovation ecosystem during the Innovation Support Network (ISN Hubs) Meet-Up program in Abuja.
ISN Hubs is a nonprofit organization of over 140 entrepreneurship, impact, innovation, and technology organizations in Nigeria.
The meeting was aimed at introducing ISN Hubs to stakeholders and also discuss how hubs/innovation centers can thrive in Abuja and the northern part of Nigeria in general.
Speaking at the event, Maimuna Yusuf Ahmad, Programs and Partnerships Manager from the ISN hubs Secretariat, discussed the organization’s mission and goals, as well as the benefits of collaboration between tech hubs.
She also highlighted some of the previous and recent projects which the ISN Hubs Secretariat has executed and how it has impacted the innovation ecosystem in Nigeria.
Ajibike Jimoh, Head of Programs and Partnerships at Ventures Park in her address stressed the importance of hubs having a niche beyond co-working space and programs and also telling the stories of startups, saying that this can help to raise awareness of their work and attract investment.
Jimoh also emphasized the need for tech hubs to be sustainable, both financially and operationally.
Faith Ono, who spoke on behalf of Aiivon Innovation Hub, said that tech hubs need to find ways to monetize their solutions.
She also stressed the importance of collaboration between tech hubs, saying that this can help to address common challenges and to share resources.
The meeting was a valuable opportunity for hub/innovation center managers to share their experiences and to learn from each other. Innovation Support Network is committed to helping tech hubs thrive in Nigeria, and will continue to work with tech hubs to address the challenges they face and to help them grow and succeed.
