Prominent activist and politician, Aisha Yesufu, has concluded a grassroots engagement tour across the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), appreciating supporters and community stakeholders for their continued solidarity and political support.

The tour covered Kwali, Abaji, Gwagwalada, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Bwari, and Kuje, drawing party officials, youth groups, women associations, community leaders and grassroots mobilisers.

The visits provided a platform for Yesufu to reconnect with residents, acknowledge their support, and reaffirm her commitment to accountable leadership, civic participation, and national development.

Speaking during the engagements, Yesufu expressed gratitude to her supporters for standing by her throughout her political journey, including her bid to represent the FCT in the senate.

She said the support she continues to receive from ordinary citizens remains a strong source of encouragement despite challenges surrounding the party’s senatorial ticket decision.

According to her, her political movement is driven by a broader vision beyond individual ambition.

“The mission has never been about one person. It has always been about building a better society where citizens can enjoy the dividends of democracy and have confidence in those entrusted with public office,” she said.

She stressed that the ultimate goal remains improving governance outcomes and expanding opportunities for Nigerians through active citizen participation.

During the interactions, community leaders and supporters reiterated their confidence in her leadership and commitment to public service.

Some supporters, however, expressed concern over what they described as her exclusion from the FCT senatorial ticket despite her popularity among grassroots members of her party.

They maintained that the development would not weaken their support for her or their broader commitment to democratic reform and civic engagement.

Yesufu urged her supporters to remain united and focused on long-term goals of national transformation, emphasising voter education, grassroots mobilisation, and sustained civic participation.

She also called on Nigerians to remain actively engaged in the democratic process and to support initiatives that promote transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance.

Observers noted that the tour was aimed not only at appreciation but also at strengthening grassroots structures and consolidating community networks ahead of future political activities.

Supporters across the six Area Councils pledged continued commitment to her movement, expressing optimism that sustained citizen engagement would contribute to better governance and national development.
