The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has mourned the passing of former president, Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as a great national loss.

The association in a communique issued at the end of the National Executive Council meeting held in Niger State and signed by the national publicity secretary, Anani Hamisu yesterday extolled Buhari’s leadership qualities.

It said he would be greatly missed, especially as ALGON remembers his love for local governments and the populace.

They also mourned the passing of two local government chairmen, Hon. Lawal Yau’u of Gumel LGA of Jigawa State and Hon. Aminu Hamidu of Bakori LGA of Katsina State and other deceased members, praying for consolation of their families and departed souls to rest in peace.
