A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nnanna Ibemgbo, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari over the launch of Kolmani oil exploration in the North East.
Speaking with LEADERSHIP Friday yesterday, Ibemgbo said the discovery of oil in the North will herald multiple blessings and development, and a clear departure.
He said he was confident that the people of the region would learn from the mistakes of the Niger Delta, saying interests of all parties, including the host communities must be captured in the working document and guidelines.
He advised that mechanisms should be put in place to check incidences of oil theft and other illegal operations that could result in loss of revenue.
Ibemgbo also appealed to Nigerians, especially the South East, to return APC to power in the centre for consolidation of the gains made in the last seven and half years.
He said APC was on course in the quest to reposition Nigeria for global competition for the commonwealth of the Nigerian people.
