Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Monitoring Committee for the gubernatorial and House of Assembly primary elections in Oyo State, Chief Ayo Afolabi, has urged all aspirants to accept the outcome of the primaries in good faith.

He made the appeal on Thursday while leading the monitoring committee to observe the gubernatorial primary election at Ward 3, Ibadan North Local Government Area.

Afolabi, who also serves as the publicity secretary of the party in the South-West, said the committee was satisfied with the conduct of the exercise so far, describing it as orderly and peaceful.

“What the monitoring committee has been able to observe, particularly today, is the orderly conduct of the members. People have been obedient and orderly, and we are satisfied,” he said.

He added that reports from various locations indicated that the exercise had been largely hitch-free.

Afolabi called on party members and aspirants to accept the outcome of the primaries once concluded and work together in the interest of the party.

“My advice to party members and the aspirants is to accept the outcome of the results in good faith,” he said.

One of the gubernatorial aspirants, Barrister Sharafadeen Alli, who participated in the exercise, also described the process as peaceful and credible.

Speaking with journalists after voting, Alli urged all aspirants and party members to support whoever emerges from the primaries.

“I am happy. You can see the process; it is free and fair. I advise my fellow aspirants that we should accept the results of this primary election and support whoever emerges,” he said.

He also called on party members to remain calm and unite ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that the APC would reclaim the Agodi Government House.
