Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lampooned the state government over its inability to pay workers’ arrears of promotion with March salaries as promised.
In a swift reaction, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state expressed its sympathy with APC over its pronounced agony on the no-love lost between Governor Ademola Ademola’s government and the workers.
The APC in a statement by its acting chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawa, and made available by the director of media and information, Chief Kola Olabisi, to journalists, observed that the workers were pained by the failure inthe prompt payment of the month’s salaries because Governor Adeleke had made it his campaign promise that the payment of their salaries would not exceed the 26th of any particular month.
Lawal stated that his party has been vindicated on its earlier position on the inability of Adeleke to fulfil his obligation to the workers.
He said his party foresaw the present predicament of the Adeleke administration stated that it never knew that it would be so early in coming as it is pretty difficult for anyone to give what he doesn’t possess.
But the PDP in its reaction through a statement by its caretaker chairman, Dr. Akindele Adekunle, warned that no amount of cheap rhetoric would wash away the ignoble records of the erstwhile ruling party in terms of the welfare of workers in the state.
