Only three of the nine serving members of the House of Representatives from Ondo State have secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) tickets to return to the Green Chamber at the party’s primary election held on Saturday.
The lawmakers who retained their tickets are Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero, representing Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency; Hon. Abiola Makinde of Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituency; and Hon. Gboyega Adefarati, representing Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal Constituency.
According to results announced by the chairman of the National Assembly Primary Election Committee for Ondo State, Hon. Iboroma Harry Dabibi, Ehindero recorded one of the highest margins in the exercise after polling 22,304 votes to defeat Ibrahim Moruf Tosin, who secured 330 votes, and Oseni Oyeniyi, who polled 118 votes.
Makinde also coasted to victory in Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituency with 10,847 votes ahead of Ade Adeniyi, who scored 2,045 votes, and Bola Fisayo, who polled 1,551 votes.
