Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has expressed optimism that Argentina will defend their World Cup title in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Following a friendly win against Mauritania, Enzo stated the team is “going to defend the title” and is working to ensure they arrive in top form.
He emphasized the team’s belief, telling ESPN that preparations are on track despite varied conditions in recent matches.
“Very well. We’re going to defend the title, obviously.
“We know these matches are preparations and we’ll give our best to arrive in top form.”
“I have somewhat strange feelings about the match. The pitch wasn’t in good condition, and we weren’t able to show much of our style of play.
“It’s useful for what’s to come, being with the group and refreshing the coach’s ideas.”
