Bandits Kill 6 Members Of Joint Forces In Niger

No fewer than six members of joint security operatives including vigilantes have been killed by bandits who attacked some villages in Shiroro local government area of Niger State.
It was gathered that the bandits also abducted security men and scores of villagers in the attacks and escaped through Allawa Forest.

Following the attacks on the villages, the military joint taskforce stationed in Alawa and Erena with some vigilante members in Shiroro were mobilised to the area.
It was learnt that they engaged the bandits in a gun duel at Lolo around Alawa axis where six security men were killed and several bandits were neutralized.

A villager who preferred anonymity said the bandits stormed Kukoki and Sarari villages in their hundreds.
The villager said for the past three days, the bandits have intermittently attacked the villages around Kukokki and Bassa area of Shiroro local government area.

It was learnt that two houses at Masigo village were burnt down as they could not see anybody to abduct in the area.
