Bauchi State House of Assembly has approved N96.676 billion as the 2024 supplementary budget.
The passage followed the adoption of the House committee on appropriation report during plenary yesterday.

The committee observed in the report that the bill sought to among others, bridge the gap in the 2024 approved budget allocation due to changes in economic conditions for unforeseen expenditures and provide additional funds for the ongoing or new developmental projects across the state.

Chairman of the appropriation committee, Habibu Umar, recommended that the implementation of the treasury single account should be given utmost priority to ensure that revenue generating MDAs remit all their collections into the consolidated revenue fund.

Other recommendations of the committee, he said, must report performance of the revenue generating MDAs or their revenue lines will not be budgeted for in the 2025 state budget.

He advised the state house to issue a letter of special commendation to the state commissioner and the permanent Secretary for ministry of works and transport for their outstanding presentation and defense of the ministry’s 2024 approved budget performance.
