The Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed his elder brother, Adamu Mohammed, as Emir of Duguri with a first-class status.
Secretary to Bauchi State government, Aminu Hammayo, presented Mohammed with his appointment letter on Friday in his palace.
He said the appointment followed due process and was based on merit, dedication and contributions of both leaders to the peace and development of their respective communities.
He called on the emir to support the government’s policies and mobilize their subjects towards unity and progress.
Responding, the Emir of Duguri, Mohammed expressed gratitude to the governor for the honour and pledged unwavering loyalty to the state government and the Bauchi Emirate Council.
He assured of his commitment to fostering peace, enlightenment, and sustainable development in their domains.
