The Bauchi State government has called for entries from individuals, teams and organisations for the creation and adoption of a new state anthem and logo.
The commissioner for information and communication, Hon. Usman Shehu Usman, who made the announcement, said the project was aimed at showcasing the state’s rich history, culture and progressive spirit.
He said the new anthem should reflect the state’s values, unity and vision for the future, while the logo must be creatively designed to capture Bauchi’s essence, heritage and its identity as the “Pearl of Tourism.”
On eligibility, Shehu said the competition is open to all Nigerians, including individuals, creative agencies and firms with special encouragement for entries from Bauchi indigenes.
The anthem should be in English lyrics while the Hausa version will be considered at a later time and should be in a musical composition, MP3 format with or without vocals.
“For the Logo design to be high-resolution in JPEG and PNG formats, with explanatory notes on the concept and symbolism behind the design,” he said.
Entries are to be submitted within four weeks from September 20, 2025 in both soft and hard copies, properly sealed until the official opening.
“All entries should be addressed to the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Information and Communication, Bauchi State, C/O Abubakar Umar Secretariat, Bauchi. Upon submission, entrants must sign the register and collect an acknowledged copy of their cover note,” the commissioner stated.
