The Bauchi State government has signed a partnership agreement with Wikki Air Limited, a new airline set to begin flight operations in the state.
In a press release issued yesterday in Bauchi, the managing director and chief executive officer of the company, Eugenia Ndukwe, reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to providing safe, reliable, and efficient air transportation services within Bauchi State and beyond.
Ndukwe explained that Wikki Air recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Bauchi State International Economic and Investment Summit, noting that the airline is supported by experienced partners and investors with a strong record in aviation safety and management.
“Our goal is to leverage their expertise and experience to establish Wikki Air as a leading carrier in the region,” Ndukwe stated.
According to her, the airline’s mission is to deliver safe, reliable and efficient air services while contributing to the economic growth and development of Bauchi State.
She added that Wikki Air will also play a vital role in promoting tourism by showcasing Bauchi’s natural attractions, notably the Wikki Warm Spring, from which the airline derives its name.
“We envision Wikki Air becoming a leading regional airline, offering both domestic and international flights that connect Bauchi State to the world. Our objective is to create jobs, stimulate economic activity, and boost the tourism sector of Bauchi State,” she said.
Ndukwe assured that the company would establish a strong operational base in Bauchi, providing high-quality customer service marked by safety, comfort and reliability.
She further revealed that Wikki Air plans to commence operations before July 2026, emphasising that the project’s timeline aligns with emerging market opportunities and the airline’s growth strategy.
“The signing of this MoU with the Bauchi State government demonstrates our firm commitment to this project. It also provides a platform for close collaboration with the government and local stakeholders to ensure the success of Wikki Air,” she noted.
Ndukwe expressed confidence that the new airline would significantly impact Bauchi’s economic development, foster tourism, and enhance connectivity across Nigeria and beyond.
“We look forward to building a sustainable and successful airline that truly benefits the people of Bauchi State,” she said.
