President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Monday celebrated his wife, Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Godswill Akpabio, as she marked her 54th birthday at a heartfelt ceremony held in their country home in Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The event was marked by an outpouring of emotion and glowing tributes from family members, friends, and associates who gathered to honour the former First Lady of Akwa Ibom State.
Leading the tributes, Senator Akpabio delivered an emotional message to his wife, declaring: “Be assured of my love forever. My dear wife, words cannot describe my joy as you add another year to your age today.
“Your life is replete with a positive impact on humanity. Your love for fellow women, children and the less privileged in our society will continue to be celebrated.”
He described her pivotal role during his tenure as Governor of Akwa Ibom State from 2007 to 2015, praising her initiatives through the Family Life Enhancement Initiative (FLEI), which he said transformed the lives of thousands.
“You made my tenure as Governor of Akwa Ibom State exceptional. Your good deeds, especially your humility in serving our women, children and the vulnerable, shall never be forgotten,” Akpabio said.
“Even out of office, you have continued to touch lives through numerous empowerment initiatives, medical outreaches and interventions such as building houses for widows and the less privileged. My family is blessed to have a God-fearing wife and mother like you.”
He also presented his wife with a special birthday card filled with prayers and goodwill messages, expressing gratitude for her unwavering support to him, their children, and the people of Akwa Ibom.
Also present at the event, President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, described Mrs. Akpabio as a role model and commended her sustained contributions to national development through women-focused and humanitarian projects.
Deputy Whip of the Senate, Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, lauded her as a prayerful and steadfast supporter of her husband’s political journey and wished her many more years of fruitful service to humanity.
An emotionally moved Mrs. Akpabio thanked her husband for his love and support.
“Thank you, my dear husband, for your love and always supporting me. Thank you for loving me. I want to reassure you again of my love, support and loyalty to you,” she said.
She also deeply appreciated the guests’ presence, prayers and unwavering goodwill.
The celebration climaxed with the ceremonial cutting of the birthday cake, followed by an exchange of gifts and warm felicitations from friends and well-wishers.
