Those suspended include Alfred Aondoaver Emberga of Makurdi North Constituency, Shimawua Emmanuel Kyan Constituency, Cyril Ikong Oju 2 Constituency and Abu Umoru of Apa constituency.
The speaker, Hyacinth Dajoh, gave the approval following a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Saater Tiseer, titled: “Motion to suspend Hon. Alfred Aondoaver Emberga (Makurdi North State Constituency) and three others from legislative duties for an attempt to cause chaos in the House.”

The mover of the motion informed the House that on August 20, the House, in the spirit of unity, passed a vote of confidence on its leadership and Governor Hyacinth Alia. However, three days after, Emberga and the three others went behind to mobilise other members to cause chaos.

He condemned the dishonourable actions and urged the members to suspend the affected members from legislative duties for six months.

In their contributions, Elias Audu of Gwer East Constituency and the Majority Chief Whip, Hon. Peter Ipusu of Katsina/Ala West constituency, condemned the acts and supported the motion.
In his ruling, the speaker announced the suspension on the affected members and directed the Sergeant at Arms to lead them out of the chambers.
