As Nigerians celebrate the 63rd Independence anniversary, the founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church (SRKC), Apostle John Okoriko, has asked Nigerians not to blame the colonial masters for the crisis of development facing the country, noting that successive political leaders should be blamed for the country’s woes since independence.
Speaking in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital during the monthly interactive service with journalists on the theme; “God Blames Man, Man Blames Spirits, Over the Prevailing Wickedness in the World, Who is Right?” Okoriko, explained that “every wickedness in the world is caused by man.”
Okoriko, who is the founder of SRKC, said the colonial masters had good intentions to foster unity among diverse ethnic groups, but politicians hijacked the concept for their selfish ends.
He advised Nigerians to “look beyond man – made system to achieve success in all sectors of our national life.”
“God never created any evil, foul or unclean spirits, but Jesus said the words I’m speaking to you are spirits and they are life,” he stressed.
He said man had invented a lot of evils through words and actions, adding that every evil is first conceived in thoughts before action.
Okoriko, author of a book titled; “Every Satan Has A Human Face,” therefore, urged Nigerians not to blame majority tribes or colonial masters, but should think inward to promote growth and development of the nation. He also tasked Nigerians to find God’s grace to enable them wriggle out of the present predicament.
He said: “When man stops doing evil, wickedness will vanish from the face of the earth. Human beings create wars and disaffection and ask God to take it away. How can God take away something he never created?”
