Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have killed 10 persons and burnt several houses in Gatamorwa ward of Chibok local government area of Borno State. The incident occurred on Monday.
A member of Gatamorwa ward, Mr Alamson Ayuba, who disclosed the attack to LEADERSHIP yesterday, said the terrorists who came with vehicles and motorcycles with sophisticated weapons attacked the ward around 5:00 pm on Monday during the New Year celebration.
Ayuba lamented that despite the abduction of over 250 schoolgirls at Chibok in 2014 by the terrorists, with about 87 of them still in captivity, the terrorists were still attacking Chibok and environs, killing and stealing food items, especially at this harvest.
“They came in large numbers, with sophisticated weapons, burning houses and carting away foodstuffs,” he said.
