BOWFT: Edo Queens Battle Nasarawa Amazons As FC Robo Face Delta Queens In Semifinals

Edo Queens Football Queens of Benin will face Nasarawa Amazons FC of Lafia on Wednesday in a semi-final match of the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT).

The match scheduled for the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City by 1 p.m. came to be after the Edo side beat Heartland Queens FC of Owerri 4-0.

The Nasarawa Amazons on their part beat Naija Ratels of Abuja 3-2.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the competition’s second semi-final match will see FC Robo of Lagos facing Delta Queens of Asaba at the same venue by 4 p.m.

FC Robo Queens had comfortably edged past Confluence Queens of Lokoja 6-0, while Delta Queens thrashed Royal Queens of Warri 2-1.

NAN reports that the competition evolved from an idea by the Edo First Lady, Betsy Obaseki.

This edition of the competition, which is the second, has the theme “Say ‘No’ to Drugs” and is aimed at raising awareness on the adverse effects of drug abuse among youths. The final match will come up on Saturday
