Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, Muhammad Tilde, has described the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari as a devastating loss to Nigeria’s downtrodden, whom he said were the cornerstone of Buhari’s political journey.
Speaking with reporters in Bauchi, Tilde hailed the late president as a “champion of democracy” and a true patriot who earned the love and trust of the talakawa (poor masses) through decades of public service and sacrifice.
“We remember former President Buhari as a champion of democracy, a patriot, darling of the talakawa and a leader who fought to keep Nigeria one,” Tilde said.
He praised Buhari’s relentless efforts to improve the socio-economic conditions of ordinary Nigerians, saying his legacy of discipline, integrity, and service would remain a guiding light for generations.
“Buhari worked tirelessly and sacrificed his life to stabilise the country and secure its future. His legacy will forever be etched in our collective memory,” Tilde added.
