The President of the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT), Jean Claudio Talon, has expressed his confidence and pledged full support for the newly elected President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, following his landslide victory in the October elections.
Talon remarked that Ochei’s extensive experience, leadership qualities, and administrative skills will elevate Nigerian tennis to new heights of excellence.

“Victor Ochei’s track record of effective leadership and his passion for sports development instil great confidence in us. Under his guidance, we expect Nigerian tennis to reach impressive levels of competitiveness and productivity,” Talon stated.

The CAT President also reaffirmed the continental body’s commitment to providing Nigeria with the necessary technical and developmental support to ensure the success of Ochei’s vision for the sport.
Jean Claudio Talon was among the dignitaries present at the Night of Tribute held in honour of the late NTF President, Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju, whose passing created the vacancy now filled by Ochei.

Talon praised Akindoju’s significant contributions to the growth of tennis in Nigeria and Africa, describing him as “a pillar of dedication and progress, whose legacy will continue to inspire the tennis community.”

With Victor Ochei now in charge, the Confederation of African Tennis looks forward to a strengthened collaboration with Nigeria in promoting the development of tennis across the continent.
