The United Kibaku Global Youth (UKGY) forum has raised alarm over renewed attacks by Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents in Chibok communities of Borno State, warning that recent violence has resulted in killings, displacement, and destruction of property worth millions of naira.

The group said several coordinated attacks were carried out in the past week across different communities in Chibok Local Government Area without resistance, heightening fear among residents.

In a statement signed and issued to journalists on Saturday by the group’s leader, Comrade Peter Abraham, the youth forum expressed concern over what it described as a worsening security situation in the area.

“We, the United Kibaku Global Youth (UKGY) forum are seriously angry about what is happening in Chibok LGA,” the statement read.

The group alleged that communities including Hirpaya, Shikarki, Bambatsu, Ngadarma, and others were attacked within the week, leading to deaths and destruction of property.

It further stated that in Kautikari, many youths have abandoned their homes and relocated their families to safer areas due to fear of further attacks.

“Many of our people have been killed and displaced, with properties worth millions of naira destroyed,” the statement added.

The forum blamed what it described as neglect by the local and state governments, as well as elected representatives, for the deteriorating security situation.

“This situation shows neglect by the local government, the state government, and even our representatives,” Comrade Abraham said.

He also lamented that the lives of the Chibok people appeared to be undervalued despite repeated attacks in the area.

“Kibaku may be a small tribe, but that should not mean our people should continue to be killed without action,” he stated.

The group urged authorities to take urgent and concrete steps to protect lives and property, stressing that leadership must go beyond prayers and include decisive action.

“Our leaders should stop depending only on religious prayers without taking action. Prayer is important, but action must also be taken to protect lives and communities. If you cannot act as a leader, then resign and allow those who are ready to serve the people,” the statement concluded.
