Crystal Palace have re-signed forward Evann Guessand on a season-long loan from Aston Villa, just months after his previous spell at Selhurst Park.
The 25-year-old Ivory Coast international spent the second half of last season with Palace after joining Villa from French club Nice for £26 million in August.
Guessand made 21 appearances for Villa, scoring twice, before moving to Palace in January. He went on to score his first Premier League goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers and featured in Palace’s Conference League final triumph.
Villa had initially agreed a conditional obligation to sell Guessand to Palace, while the Eagles described the arrangement as an option to buy.
However, Palace opted against activating the earlier purchase option, allowing Guessand to return to Villa for pre-season.
The forward, who has made two substitute appearances for Ivory Coast at the World Cup, will now remain at Palace for another season as he looks to build on his encouraging second spell with the club.
