This significant adjustment means that Nigerians can now purchase PMS at competitive prices: N875 per litre in Lagos; N885 per litre in the South West; N895 per litre in the North West and North Central; and N905 per litre in the South East, South South, and North East.

This is the sixth time that Dangote Refinery has reduced the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) price six times in 2025.

Recall that on February 1, 2025, the refinery reduced pump price  from N950 to N890 per litre, indicating a N60 reduction. Later in February there was another cut from N890 to N825 per litre (N65 reduction), totaling N125 in February

Also,  a reduction from N865 to N835 per litre, a N30 cut announced on April 16, 2025. This came shortly after a previous reduction to N865 about six days earlier

This pricing structure will be reflected across all partners, including MRS, AP (Ardova), Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde. The refinery encourages other marketers to join its growing network of partners to enhance support for President Bola Tinubu’s Nigeria First policy, which emphasizes the importance of locally-produced goods and services.

Since commencing operations, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has implemented ongoing cost-reduction strategies that aim to benefit Nigerians. In February 2025, the company executed two reductions in petrol prices, amounting to a total decrease of N125 per litre, followed by an additional reduction of approximately N45 per litre in April. Furthermore, the prices of other essential products such as diesel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) have also been notably lowered, improving affordability across transportation, industrial, and domestic energy sectors.

The refinery has reassured Nigerians of price stability, even amidst global crude oil price fluctuations, reaffirming its dedication to supporting the nation’s economy.

It noted that “by refining petroleum products domestically at the world’s largest single-train refinery, we proudly contribute to Nigeria’s energy security, foreign exchange savings, and overall economic resilience. This aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to tackle the nation’s economic challenges and elevate the well-being of Nigerians.”

Also, Dangote Petroleum Refinery assured the public of a reliable supply of petroleum products, with ample reserves to meet domestic demand and a surplus designated for export, further boosting the country’s foreign exchange earnings.

In a notable recognition of philanthropic efforts, Aliko Dangote, the founder of Dangote Refinery, has been named in the inaugural 2025 TIME100 Philanthropy list. This prestigious list highlights 100 influential leaders shaping the future of global philanthropy. Alongside renowned figures such as Michael Bloomberg, Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffett, and Melinda Gates, Aliko Dangote is acknowledged for his Foundation’s average annual commitment of $35 million to impactful programs across Africa, underscoring his dedication to making a difference.
