General superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry and convener, Global Crusade with Kumuyi, GCK, Pastor William Kumuyi, has asked Nigerians to remain vigilant and wade off detractors to make it in life.
He declared that Satan cannot hinder God’s best for His people despite challenges they encounter.
Kumuyi made the assertion virtually during the February edition of the Impact Academy with the theme ‘Success with Integrity’ on the sidelines of the ongoing six-day Global Crusade with Kumuyi, GCK, in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
The Impact Academy was attended by thousands of young people across the world via social media handles including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and X including Zoom and satellite broadcast, and they include secondary schools, tertiary institutions, graduates, and young professionals.
Other participants were top government functionaries, academicians, religious leaders and youth leaders.
The programme had various varieties including seminars, panel discussions, excellentia sessions, questions and answers, spoken words, goodwill messages, and amongst others.
Meanwhile, to climax the event, Kumuyi, in a message titled: “Unique Fortune”, said the youths are to boldly take their positions with determination in spite of challenges posed by Satan the devil by absolutely trusting in the name of Jesus Christ and living a life that pleases God.
The cleric cited various Bible passages, pointing out that young people must be focused and aspire to succeed in life with faith in God’s infallible promises.
He said, “You must vow and be determined to make it. That is why you must be vigilant to wade off detractors.
“You must choose to be up and when you do that, nobody can bring you down. It is up to you to say I was white before; I want to be whiter now.”
Pointing at the woman with the issue of blood, he said the woman took her destiny in her hand to change her narrative as she made the bold move to touch the hem of Christ’s garment that fateful day, and that was when God acted in her favour, hence young people should take the step of faith as the woman did for God to do exploits.
He said young people can make progress and also achieve success amid prevailing corruption, to which he expressed optimism that he sees them emerging victorious.
In a goodwill message, the Rivers State commissioner for youth development, Dr Chisom Gbali, who represented Governor Siminalayi Fubara, said the Fubara-led administration has carved out plans to train young people in Rivers State to become employable, thereby giving them hope to sustain themselves with multiple streams of income.
Gbali also commended the convener of GCK, Pastor William Kumuyi for adding value to the lives of young people since he was a lecturer at the prestigious University of Lagos, UNILAG, and also taking it globally with the Impact Academy Programme, and turning around the lives of the indigent, and added that the cleric should continue and also sustain the tempo.
According to him, Fubara is a peace-loving man and stands for everybody living in Rivers State, therefore his boss remains committed to the development of the young people across the state irrespective of their background.
“The world is suffering today and Nigeria is not an exception. So if you don’t take action on what you want to become in future, it becomes difficult.
“For us in the Youth Development Ministry, we have carved out plans to train the youths to become employable. So, you need multiple streams of income to survive,” he said.
Also, the education commissioner, Prof Chinedu Mmom, urged the youths not to give up despite initial failures experienced but should copy the former president of the United States of America, USA, Abraham Lincoln who failed seven times in his political ambition but persevered and eventually became the president of the most powerful nation on earth.
Mmom, who was represented by the permanent secretary in the ministry, Mrs Ebere Emenike, urged the youths to be diligent in their endeavours, while stressing that they would succeed at last.
