Delta Police Arrest Suspected Cultists, Robbers, Recover Arms

Nigeria police, Delta State Command have arrested five suspected cultists, armed robbers, and kidnappers who have been terrorising residents of Sapele, Oghara and the environs.

The Oghara and Sapele Police Divisions in collaboration with the CP’s team on special assignment arrested them.

The suspects include Ochuko Joel Ofoye, 35, of Jeddo community, in Okpe; Michael Anwuli, 29, of Alisimie community, in Ika South; Great Ojareri, 35, of Oghareki community, in Ethiope West, Innocent Esefeta, 31, of Efisere community, in Ughelli North and Igaga Ebuke, 27, of Orerokpe community, in Okpe local government areas, were arrested in a covert intelligence-led operation at different raided locations in Oghara town, Ethiope West local government area.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, SP Edafe Bright, the suspects are in custody and investigation is ongoing.

Items recovered included one Beretta pistol, two AK-47 magazines, one locally made cut-to-size gun and 29 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition.
