It trained them  on military protocols and ethics.

DEPOWA president, Mrs Oghogho Musa, said the programme aimed at teaching officers’ wives how to interact with one another.

“If we understand ourselves emotionally, we’ll know how to talk, react, especially in public, and we will not be having misunderstandings and disorderliness.

“It’s very, very important because the armed forces is about orderliness and protocol. And if you know the order, if you know what to do, how to relate and who to address at different times, it will help you more and you know where you are meant to be at a particular time, and will not infringe on anybody’s right. You will not get people angry and will not get yourself into trouble.”

Mrs Musa added that the training was planned to address emotional intelligence, a key factor necessary in achieving the assigned goals for the year 2025.

She said emotional intelligence was a vital aspect of military wives’ personal and professional growth that could profoundly impact on their well-being, relationships and interactions with others around them.

In her lecture titled, “Protocols for military spouses and DEPOWA members, Mrs Victoria Irabor warned military officers’ wives against use of their husbands’ staff cars, and reminded members that they are not allowed give their bags to orderlies. She also warned against making soldiers do demeaning jobs.
