The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has launched with an agenda focusing on economic reform, national security and principled governance.

In a statement jointly signed by its National Chairman, Samuel M. Memeh, and National Publicity Secretary, Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr., the party said its formation was a response to what it described as Nigeria’s “systemic failure, economic stagnation and deepening insecurity.”

The DLA said it aims to change the way politics is practised in the country by placing emphasis on ideas and principles, rather than what it called “ad hoc solutions” that have failed to address long-standing challenges.

The party explained that its guiding philosophy is rooted in Pan-Africanism, ethical leadership, scientific progress and people-centred governance, which it believes are critical to sustainable national development.

On the economy, the party said it plans to move Nigeria away from a consumption-driven system to one anchored on production, innovation and industrial growth.

It identified key priorities to include strengthening local industries, increasing investment in technology and research, and supporting young entrepreneurs.
Speaking on security, the DLA expressed concern over the situation in rural communities, particularly the impact of violence on farmers and food production. It proposed stricter regulation of cattle movement and the adoption of modern ranching to reduce conflicts and improve agricultural stability.

The party also urged Nigerians to align with its vision, noting that membership is open to citizens willing to contribute to national rebuilding efforts.
