The Department of State Services (DSS) in Kano State has detained the spokesperson to the Kano State governor, Sanusi Bature, alongside three others, following a petition filed by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso over alleged cyberbullying.

Others detained included Salisu Yahaya Hotoro, Ibrahim Adam, and Hon. Nuhu Dambazau.

Bature confirmed the development in a post on his verified Facebook page on Saturday evening, stating that they were released on bail on self-recognition after spending about four hours in DSS custody.

“My humble self along with three others (namely) Salisu Yahaya Hotoro, Ibrahim Adam and Hon. Nuhu Dambazau are released on bail by the DSS Kano State Command over a petition filed by Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on alleged cyber crimes, intimidation and defamation of his character,” the governor’s spokesman wrote.

He further noted that the quartet will appear in court despite being granted administrative bail by the DSS.

“We were under the custody of the DSS for four hours and finally released on bail based on self recognition. Sen. Kwankwaso is set to present the matter before the court,” the post added.

LEADERSHIP reports that the development followed a petition submitted by the Kwankwasiyya Movement led by Kwankwaso to the DSS over alleged cyber harassment, intimidation, and defamation of character against the leaders of the political bloc.
