The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians across the country, calling on them to reflect on the season’s message of sacrifice, love, and renewal.
FEC also admonished Nigerians to offer prayers for Nigeria’s peace and unity during the Easter period.
The Council, in a statement on Thursday by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, urged Christian faithful to emulate the exemplary life of Jesus Christ, particularly his teachings on love, selflessness, forgiveness, and endurance.
Akume described the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as a symbol of hope and salvation for humanity, encouraging Christians to let the occasion inspire acts of compassion and nation-building.
“As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, let us also pray for the unity and continued progress of our great nation,” the SGF stated.
Akume also appealed to Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that collective effort is essential in building a prosperous and inclusive country.
The statement wished all Christians a peaceful Good Friday and a joyful Easter celebration.
