No fewer than 50 editors and journalists from across the country will embark on a five-day tour of key projects being executed by the administration of President Bola Tinubu in the South-East geopolitical zone.
The tour, organised by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in collaboration with the Presidential Media Team, is scheduled to begin in Ebonyi State today and end in Imo State on June 17.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the director of Media and Publicity of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Tunde Rahman, the exercise is aimed at showcasing the achievements, ongoing projects and developmental strides recorded under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The statement said the media engagement would feature project inspections, stakeholder engagements, media interactions and strategic discussions on national development.
It noted that the tour would cover the five South-East states of Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra, Abia and Imo.
Rahman described the Renewed Hope National Media Tour as a platform for promoting factual reporting, strengthening relations between the government and the media, and providing Nigerians with firsthand information on the impact of policies and programmes being implemented across the country.
He recalled that the initiative had earlier taken more than 70 editors and government officials to the North-West zone, where participants inspected major federal projects, including the Kaduna-Kano-Katsina-Maradi railway project, the Kebbi corridor of the Sokoto-Badagry Highway, the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway, the Kaduna Western Bypass, irrigation projects in Jigawa State and ecological intervention works in the Wujuwuju-Jakara area of Kano State.
The organisers said the South-East edition is expected to offer participants an opportunity to assess ongoing projects and deepen public understanding of the administration’s development efforts in the region.
