The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has conducted its local government primaries to elect candidates across the 18 councils, with the exercise described as peaceful, free and fair.

Head of the electoral committee, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, who monitored the process, said the primaries were held using the direct voting method across the 192 political wards in the state.

He noted that in most cases, acting council chairmen secured the party’s tickets to emerge as candidates for the forthcoming local government elections.

According to the results announced, Hon. Osaro Eribo polled 4,349 votes to emerge as the APC candidate in Egor LGA while Hon. Gabriel Eduseri secured 5,933 votes in Oredo LGA.

In Owan West LGA, Enahoro Aikpokpo garnered 1,664 votes, while Hon. Austin Imafidon polled 2,426 votes to clinch the party’s ticket.

Commending the process, Bello expressed appreciation to the party leadership in the state and Governor Monday Okpebholo for what he described as purposeful leadership.
