To boost education in Oredo, a former Edo State commissioner and House of Representatives hopeful, Hon. Paddy Emmanuel Iyamu, has secured a state-of-the-art Computer-based Testing, (CBT) centre for Oredo Federal Constituency through an alliance with the Senator Daisy TY Danjuma Foundation.

The project is expected to expand access to digital learning and examination infrastructure for students, job seekers and youths across the constituency, while easing the burden faced by candidates who travel long distances to access accredited CBT facilities for examinations.

Iyamu, in a press release issued in Benin yesterday on the development,  said the initiative was part of effort to support Senator Monday  Okpebholo’s drive for a better Edo and his commitment to bridging the technology and education gap at the grassroots and ensuring that young people in Oredo are not left behind in the rapidly evolving digital economy.

According to him, “Oredo’s young people deserve the same opportunities and infrastructure available anywhere in the country. This CBT centre is about removing barriers, creating access and preparing our youths for the future of work, learning and innovation.”

He explained that when completed, the facility would serve as a modern centre for JAMB, WAEC and other professional certification examinations, as well as digital skills training programmes targeted at empowering youths with globally relevant technology-driven competencies.

The Senator Daisy Danjuma Foundation, reputed for interventions in education, healthcare and women empowerment, was said to have embraced the partnership following consultations with Iyamu and community stakeholders on the pressing educational and digital needs of the constituency.
