Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ordered the arrest of Olakunle Alex Folarin, one of its dismissed staff members, for impersonating the agency with its identification card even after his sack.
Folarin, a former driver with the EFCC, was spotted on a matchmaking programme hosted by entertainer and Nollywood actor, Lege Miami, on social media, while still insinuating that he is still a staff member of the commission.
EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale said in a statement yesterday that Folarin, who served as a driver at the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate, was dismissed after investigations confirmed he forged his academic credentials.
The EFCC added that despite his dismissal, Folarin retained some of the commission’s property, including his official identity card, prompting the order for his arrest.
The statement read, “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, condemned in the strongest terms the involvement of one of its former staff, Olakunle Alex Folarin, in a matchmaking programme running on Lege Miami social media platforms.
“Folarin was recently dismissed from the commission for certificate forgery. He was a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC.”
