The Zamfara State First Lady, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has felicitated Muslims across the state and Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, urging prayers for peace, unity, and stability in the country.

In a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Office of the First Lady, Rabi Yusuf, she said the spiritual significance of Eid-el-Kabir symbolises sacrifice, obedience, love, and compassion.

She called on the Muslim Ummah to use the festive period to pray for lasting peace and development in Zamfara State and the nation at large.

The First Lady also used the occasion of Children’s Day to congratulate children across the state, describing them as the “future leaders and ambassadors of society.”

She urged parents, guardians, and communities to closely monitor children’s movements and associations, stressing the need for vigilance, mentorship, and moral guidance to protect them from negative influences.

According to her, safeguarding children requires “active vigilance, intentional mentorship and a foundation rooted in good morals and sound education.”

She further encouraged families to strengthen bonds during the festive season by visiting relatives and promoting kinship ties.

The First Lady also reminded Muslims that true obedience to Allah is reflected in acts of kindness to the vulnerable, calling on well-to-do individuals to support the less privileged during the celebration.

In demonstration of this commitment, she distributed Sallah welfare packages including cows, rams, food items, and cash to religious organisations, support groups, and vulnerable persons across the state.

Beneficiaries include FOMWAN, MSO, NASFAT, female political support groups, youth associations, and several humanitarian foundations.

She reaffirmed her commitment to initiatives that promote the well-being, protection, and empowerment of women, children, and vulnerable groups, praying for continued peace and progress in Zamfara State.
