Emmanuel, who stated this at the week during the flag-off of the military exercise “Operation Still Water 2”, at the 2 Brigade Headquarters of the Nigerian Army, Mbiokporo Nsit, in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of the state, tasked the troops to rid Akwa Ibom waters of sea criminals.

He urged the command to ensure that the exercise was extended to cover the maritime domain of the state in order to checkmate the rising scourge of piracy and ensure peace in the coastal waters.

Represented by his deputy, Obong Moses Ekpo, the governor noted that the synergy between the Nigerian Army and other security agencies had engendered peace, and appealed for such synergy to be sustained.
