Yobe State governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni, has launched the distribution of empowerment equipment to constituents of Zone C senatorial district in Gashua.

The empowerment equipment which include vehicles, tricycles, sewing machines, irrigation pumps and others were provided for the constituents by the president of the Ninth Senate, Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan.

Flagging off the distribution, Governor  Buni cautioned the beneficiaries against selling them.

He added that, “You have been provided with what you need to catch the fish,  rather than being provided with the fish, you should go fishing.”

The governor commended Senator Lawan, saying the empowerment programme was in tandem with the government’s policy on wealth creation and poverty alleviation.

According to him, this explains why they established the Ministry of Wealth Creation to effectively address empowerment and wealth creation in the state.
