Everton Make Premier League Winning Start With 2-0 Victory Over Crystal Palace

Everton began their Premier League campaign in impressive fashion after securing a comfortable 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace in their season opener.

The Toffees took control of the contest at Goodison Park and deservedly went into half-time with the lead after Harry Armstrong found the breakthrough in the 42nd minute.

Everton had threatened throughout the opening period and were rewarded for their pressure when Armstrong struck to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage at the interval.

Crystal Palace attempted to respond after the restart, but Everton remained disciplined and continued to pose a threat going forward.

The hosts doubled their advantage in the 53rd minute when Thierno Barry finished off a move created by Iliman Ndiaye to make it 2-0.

Palace struggled to find a way back into the contest as Everton defended their advantage comfortably in the closing stages.

The result gives Everton three points from their opening fixture and provides an encouraging start to their Premier League campaign, while Palace leave empty-handed after failing to find the back of the net.
