Former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Kaduna State, Barr Jonathan Kish Adamu has decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He wrote his resignation letter to the chairman, Kukum Ward of the PDP in Kaura LGA of the state.
Barr Adamu, a strong pillar in the party who served as an elected member in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, also contested as an aspirant for the gubernatorial election primary in the 2019 general elections.
In the letter titled, “Resignation of Membership,” dated May 21, 2024, Barr Adamu said the notice is with immediate effect.
“This is to notify you of my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) effective immediately,” Adamu said in the letter that was also copied to the Kaura local government area chairman and state chairman of the PDP.
Adamu, in the letter said, “It is clear to me that the forces that caused the failure of the PDP in the last three gubernatorial elections in the state are still working to impose their will on the party by foisting predetermined outcome on the party in the forthcoming congresses as it affects my people while using members to validate the process.
“I do not feel that such an outcome will be in the best interest of my community and I cannot lend myself to rubber stamp it. Efforts to get this corrected have been rebuffed. This leaves me no option but to leave the party.
“Going forward. I will consult with my political associates and relevant stakeholders on alternative platforms to actualize the aspirations of our people.”
