Economic Associates and Proshare Nigeria Limited are set to convene policymakers, investors and economic experts to examine the policy signals shaping Nigeria’s macroeconomic outlook.

Organisers said the event forms part of the EA-Proshare Country Watch Service, a joint institutional research and intelligence initiative designed to provide macroeconomic analysis, forward guidance and scenario modelling for investors, regulators, policymakers and multilateral institutions with exposure to Nigeria.

The one-day conference, scheduled for April 16, 2026, in Lagos, will focus on the policy dynamics influencing three critical pillars of the economy price stability, market liquidity and output growth at a time when authorities are navigating reforms aimed at stabilising the macroeconomic environment and sustaining economic recovery.

According to the organisers, discussions under the price stability theme will examine the trajectory of the exchange rate and the prospects for further currency adjustments, as well as the sustainability of the recent moderation in inflation from the 34.6 per cent peak recorded in November 2024 to 15.1 per cent in January 2026.

The session will also interrogate the implications of the current monetary policy environment, particularly real interest rates and the Monetary Policy Rate framework, for credit expansion, investment flows and overall economic stability.

Participants are also expected to assess movements in the Nigerian Exchange All Share Index as an indicator of investor confidence in the ongoing economic reform agenda.

Under the market liquidity segment, the conference will evaluate the adequacy and sustainability of Nigeria’s foreign reserves, reported at over $50 billion in gross terms and $34.8 billion net, as well as the impact of the tightening stance of the Central Bank of Nigeria on money supply dynamics and financial system liquidity.

Other issues slated for discussion include developments in the bond market, the spread between the apex bank’s Open Market Operations rate and the primary market stop rates set by the Debt Management Office, as well as trends in equity issuance and capital formation on the Nigerian Exchange Limited.
