Adamawa State Police Command has arrested one Aliyu Yakuba, 36, a resident of Jalingo Daddawa village in Hong local government area, for killing another resident, Bassey Isah, after failing to produce currency notes for the deceased.
The police command spokesperson, Suleiman Yahaya, said the suspect deceived and dishonestly obtained three bags of maize from the victim under the pretence of printing and producing naira notes.
The suspect demanded and received from the victim a Toyota Starlet car, a motorcycle, and a “Carry Go” tricycle, promising to make him rich overnight.
The suspect then took Bassey to a forest, where he struck him with an iron rod and buried him.
The suspect volunteered a confessional statement to the allegations and would be charged to court with culpable homicide punishable by death and armed robbery after the investigation, he said.
