FCCPC Seals Paradise Estate Offices Over Buyers’ Unallocated Homes

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed the offices of Paradise Estate in Life Camp Extension, Abuja, following a surge in consumer complaints over unfulfilled housing allocations despite full payment by subscribers.

The enforcement action, carried out on Thursday, comes amid allegations that several buyers have been denied possession of their housing units for over three years, intensifying scrutiny of accountability lapses in Nigeria’s real estate sector.

Leading the operation, Mr. Marvin Nadah, Deputy Director in the Commission’s Surveillance and Investigations Department, said the move followed multiple petitions filed against the estate developers.

He disclosed that the Commission had earlier issued a compliance notice on February 24, 2026, directing the firm to hand over the properties within seven days in line with Section 150 of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) 2018.

“We are convinced of the action the Commission is taking at this point as being lawful,” Nadah said during the enforcement exercise.

He added that staff of the company were evacuated before the premises were sealed, signalling the Commission’s readiness to escalate enforcement where directives are ignored.

Nadah further cautioned prospective homebuyers to undertake rigorous due diligence before committing funds to property developers, citing a growing pattern of disputes tied to delayed or failed housing delivery.
