The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, has congratulated Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde on her appointment as Bureau Chief for the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Network News Annex in Lagos and Deputy Director of News.

In a statement on Wednesday, Ike described the appointment as “remarkable” and a testament to Dr. Abimbola’s “exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and commitment to journalistic excellence.”

Dr. Abimbola, who recently made history as the first female Deputy National President of the NUJ, has been celebrated as a trailblazer in the media industry. Ms. Ike noted that her achievement “marks a significant milestone” and serves as an inspiration to “countless women aspiring to leadership roles in journalism.”

The NUJ FCT chairman expressed confidence that Abimbola’s “visionary guidance will enhance the FRCN’s news operations and uphold the highest standards of ethical and impactful reporting.”

“As she embarks on this exciting chapter, the union extends heartfelt wishes for innovation, integrity, and transformative success throughout her tenure,” Grace Ike stated.
