The Federal Ministry of Education has announced plans to honour outstanding teachers at the 2026 Teachers’ Summit scheduled to hold from January 27 to 28, 2026 in Abuja.

The summit themed; “Empowering Teachers, Strengthening the System: A National Agenda for Education Transformation and Sustainability,” is part of sustained national efforts to reposition teachers at the heart of education reform and national development.

A statement by the director of press and public relations of the ministry, Boriowo Folasade, said yesterday that the summit would convene teachers, policymakers, education administrators, legislators, development partners, civil society organisations, the private sector, parents, the media and other key stakeholders to deliberate on practical strategies for improving teacher welfare, professionalism, instructional quality and learning outcomes across the country.
