The viral video of the incident, which was said to have occurred in July, 2025, shows the moment armed operatives of the Vigilante group stormed a corps members’ lodge in Anambra State and assaulted Elohor and some of her colleagues.

In the disturbing video shared on Monday, members of the vigilante group were seen beating Elohor, stripping her naked, and brandishing guns while hurling degrading words at her.

According to the Haven360 Foundation, which is advocating for the victims of the attack, the incident occurred on July 23, 2025, when the vigilante operatives accused corps members of engaging in cybercrime (Yahoo Yahoo) despite their immediate display of uniforms and identity cards.

The organisation condemned the act as a gross human rights violation and called on the Anambra State Government to identify and prosecute the perpetrators.

It also urged the Federal Government to intervene and ensure justice was served while demanding reparations and compensation for the victims.

The foundation wrote, “We strongly condemn the brutal assault and violation of rights of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members by operatives of Operation Udo Ga-Achi or ‘Agunechemba Vigilante Group’ in Anambra State.

“On July 23, 2025, these state actors stormed the corpers lodge, accusing the members of being ‘Yahoo people’, despite their prompt production of NYSC identification cards and uniforms.

“The assault was particularly egregious in the case of Jennifer Edema Elohor, who was beaten, stripped naked, and left exposed and covered in blood.

“The victims were subjected to unsavoury, horrible, sexually degrading words and actions, including threats of sexual violation.”
