Firm Unveils Software To Digitalise Universities’ Administrative Processes

A United Kingdom-based technology firm, NeTech Business Techniques, has introduced the AIM Support SaaS platform to transform academic and administrative management in Nigerian universities, with a view to reducing reliance on manual processes that often slow operations, limit transparency, and weaken global competitiveness.

The platform is designed to streamline a wide range of institutional functions, from admissions processing and transcript requests to examination management and student records administration.

LEADERSHIP reports that many tertiary institutions in Nigeria still rely on outdated systems that contribute to delays, administrative bottlenecks, and service inefficiencies, even as student populations continue to grow and demand for remote access to academic services increases.

The challenge has become more pronounced amid concerns that Nigerian universities may struggle to meet international standards without stronger investment in digital infrastructure, particularly as institutions globally adopt automated systems to enhance teaching, research, and governance.

According to the technology firm, the software integrates admissions processing, examination management, student performance tracking, communication tools, and financial administration into a single digital platform, reflecting the growing shift towards automation in tertiary education.

Speaking on the development, the Public Relations Manager of NeTech Business Techniques in Nigeria, Terngu Simeon Shagba, said many institutions remain constrained by obsolete systems that are no longer aligned with modern educational demands.

“Nigerian universities have immense potential, but the systems currently in place often limit their ability to perform at a global standard. AIM Support SaaS software is designed to eliminate these barriers by automating processes, improving transparency, and enabling data-driven decision-making across all levels of university administration,” he said.

Meanwhile, education stakeholders noted that the digitisation challenge extends beyond operational delays, as manual records management has also increased the risk of data loss, weak accountability, and poor institutional planning.

The company explained that the software features automated admissions processing, enabling prospective students to apply and receive decisions remotely, a development expected to reduce delays associated with physical applications and manual shortlisting.

It also includes cloud-based data storage, automated GPA computation, digital report card generation, and real-time performance dashboards for administrators.

In addition, the platform supports hybrid learning through tools for virtual lectures, training, and meetings, while its internal communication system provides real-time notifications and secure in-app messaging for students, lecturers, and administrative staff.

Stakeholders observed that such technologies are becoming increasingly relevant as Nigerian universities seek to improve service delivery, attract international partnerships, and align with global education standards, while also addressing recurring concerns over delayed admissions, transcript processing, examination malpractice, and inefficient data management systems.

Shagba added that the platform also enhances teaching accountability through systems for monitoring lecturer attendance and performance evaluation.

“The future of education is digital, and institutions that embrace this transformation will be better positioned to thrive. AIM Support is more than just a software solution; it is a catalyst for growth, innovation, and excellence in higher education,” he said.

Consequently, while digital platforms may improve administrative efficiency, stakeholders have called for broader reforms, including stronger infrastructure, staff capacity building, and policy alignment to ensure meaningful transformation in Nigeria’s higher education system.
