His remarkable journey in education began in 1962. He attended Gindiri Blind Secondary School in Plateau State, graduating in 1979, and furthered his education at Tudun Maliki School for the Special Needs in Kano.

In 1994, Diso joined the Department of Special Education at Bayero University. His academic career saw a significant milestone in 2019 when he became Nigeria’s first visually impaired Professor. He had earlier earned his PhD in Special Education from the University of Birmingham, London, in 1991, marking a significant achievement in his academic pursuits.

Professor Diso’s contributions to special education and his pioneering efforts have left an indelible mark on the academic community. His dedication to education and his advocacy for the visually impaired have inspired many.
