The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has congratulated Nigerians as the country marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, urging citizens to focus on the bright future that lies ahead.

In a statement by the chief press secretary to the Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Leke Baiyewu, he noted that Nigeria has come a long way through a chequered history, and that the years ahead promise greater unity and prosperity.

While acknowledging that God has blessed the country with abundant human and natural resources, the Speaker called for collective efforts by all stakeholders to build “a nation of our dreams, regardless of religious, ethnic, or political differences.”
