As President Bola Tinubu celebrated his birthday on Friday, a council of 108 former senators from the All Progressives Congress (APC), former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi and Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi have paid glowing tributes to the president for tackling the challenges facing the nation.

In a statement signed by the convener and pro tem chairman of the APC Non-Serving Senators Council, Senator Basheer Lado, the former lawmakers hailed Tinubu as the “Jagaban warrior” who has fearlessly led the nation’s economic fight.

The former senators expressed their admiration for Tinubu’s ability to confront difficulties without flinching, crediting his tenacious approach with inspiring them to rally behind his presidency.

“As the Jagaban warrior, you have fearlessly led our country on the economic war, chatting a path towards prosperity and growth.

“Under your leadership, Nigeria’s stance on the global stage is undergoing a profound strengthening.

“As fellow members of the APC Non-Serving Senators Council, we stand united in our commitment to support you in your endeavours.

“Together we will continue to work tirelessly to advance the interests of our party and the Nigerian people,” the statement read.

Fayemi noted that the president’s desire for low-key celebrations, as expressed by his request that friends and associates refrain from placing congratulatory advertisements in newspapers, reflects his understanding of the current economic situation and connection to the masses.

In a statement by his media team, Fayemi praised the president for his long-standing commitment to progressive ideals, the sacrifices he has made to deepen Nigeria’s democracy, and his commitment to making Nigeria a more prosperous and united country.

“President Tinubu’s remarkable journey in service to our country exemplifies dedication, fortitude, and commitment. His unwavering leadership has helped shape our country’s political landscape and advance the cause of democracy,’’ he stated.

Fayemi acknowledged that the current challenges are daunting, but he expressed confidence in the President’s ability to lead Nigeria out of the woods.
