After receiving the items at the board’s headquarters in Umuahia, the state capital, the commissioner for health, Ngozi Okoronkwo, appreciated the gesture, describing it as very timely.
Represented by the director of public health in the ministry, Princess Agonmuo, she lauded the foundation for its medical and humanitarian services to the Akanu Ohafia community, the state, and the nation at large.
She said the gesture was in line with the health sector agenda of the present administration, assuring that the items will be distributed to the primary health-care centres to boost their services.
In her remarks, the state coordinator of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Uche Nwokocha thanked the foundation and its founder, Uche Ikwuegbuibe for their humanitarian services.
Earlier, Ikwuegbuibe, an evangelist, explained that the gesture was aimed at supporting and complementing the community medical outreach efforts of the administration.
Other members of the foundation, Oke Okoro and Grace Azuonye said it had sustained its outreach in the community and human capital development through empowerment of the vulnerable in society.
