The decorated personnel were 18 officers, including seven Deputy Corp Commanders, who were promoted to the rank of Corps Commanders and 21 marshals.

At the ceremony in Port Harcourt yesterday, the FRSC Zonal Commanding Officer, Jonathan Owoade, commended the Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, for prioritising the welfare of the personnel of the Corps.

Owoade warned the newly promoted officers and marshals to avoid engaging in acts that could deny them the opportunity of participating in future promotion examinations.

He said, “More importantly, I want to thank God that we are here today.

I want to plead for our indulgence to put in hard work. As a matter of fact, these promotion and decoration will require us to put in more efforts.

“If you had been going home at 2 O’clock or 3 O’clock before, now, you have been given a higher rank that will attract more responsibilities to you.

“You have to start working for the next rank even right now. You know in FRSC, if you commit an offence, you get a quiet, two queries will prevent you from writing the next promotion exam. So, you better know yourself so that when the time comes again, you can scale through.”

In his remarks, the Rivers State sector commander, Christopher Kuje, who congratulated the newly promoted officers and marshals, said it is always good to celebrate with those who are celebrating.

Kuje stated that when one celebrates with others, there will always be celebration in their lives.
